How to cut vinyl flooring around objects. The easiest way to cut these pieces is to take a piece of paper and draw the pattern on the paper. You don’t want a crooked or skewed pattern on your new sheet vinyl flooring! Work from left to right, row by row, maintaining space around the walls as well as any columns or vertical objects.

These should fit wall to wall with no expansion gap. Then, cut a few sheets of paper that match the size of your tile so you can use them to make your measurements. Plan to place all cut edges of the vinyl planks against the wall so the reinstalled baseboard can disguise the cuts.
